Dutch Holiday


It is useful to know, to note Dutch Holiday when you want to visit Amsterdam one day in the future. In these days in Nederland, banks, shops (apart of it), and most museum to closed, and public transportation operates on limited schedules especially
buses.

  1. Sundays almost everything is closed except big supermarket and shopping center, from Nieuwedijkstraat until Leidseplein.
  2. New Year's Day (Jan 1), with large celebrations on New Years Eve (dec 31); almost every shop closed at 18.00 o'clock
  3. Easter Sunday, Easter Monday;
  4.  Ascension Day (Thursday, 40 days after Easter);
  5.  King's Day - King Willem - Alexander ’s birthday (April 27); if the King’s Birthday falls on Sunday the celebrations take place the day before
  6.  Pentecost Sunday (7th Sunday after Easter) and Pentecost Monday;
  7.  Christmas Day (December 25) and Boxing Day (December 26).

Note ;
Shops are open on Monday at 13.00 o'clock also they are some shops are open at 08.00 am. From Thursday – Sunday, and closed 18.00 or 20.00 o'clock ( depend on shops).

Thursday almost every shop around shopping center are open until 21.00 o'clock, we call it “koopavond” or night  shopping”
