Allard
Pierson Museum.
The
Allard Pierson Museum is the archaeological museum of University from
Amsterdam named Allard Pierson (1831-1896), the first professor of
art history,
aesthetics, and modern languages and literature at the university.
The
second was Professor Jan Six, he had a big collection of books and
antiques. After his deceased in 1926, his collection purchased by
Allard Pierson Museum Foundation which was founded by his son, John
Louis Pierson. On 12 November 1934 was formally established the
Allard Pierson Museum.
The
museum contains a collection of in ancient Egyptian, Mesopotamian,
Greek, Etruscan, and Roman.
